Bodybuilder’s Day Goes from Bad to Worse After Surviving Shooting Attempt

An Australian bodybuilder escaped gunfire from an angry man but he couldn’t escape the police.

A 31-year old Australian bodybuilder was cornered by an angry gunman in the driveway of a townhouse complex in Seaton, South Australia on the night of March 26, 2019. The gunman fired multiple shots at the bodybuilder. Fortunately, the gunman missed every shot and the bodybuilder escaped.

The uninjured bodybuilder probably considered himself lucky to escape grave injury from the incident. He was probably reassured when the South Australia Police, whose motto is “Keeping SA Safe”, showed up to check on him and find out more information about the gunman.

The bodybuilder’s sense of relief quickly changed after police stumbled across a large quantity of anabolic steroids at his house. South Australia Police detectives with the Western District concluded that the bodybuilder was a steroid dealer. The police told him that he was under arrest.

The bodybuilder was booked and incarcerated at the local jail before being released on bail. Police detectives officially charged him with trafficking a prescription drug, trafficking a controlled drug and unlawful possession under the Controlled Substances Act of 1984.

The unnamed bodybuilder was scheduled to appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court to face the charges on May 29, 2019.

Was the shooting the result of a drug deal gone bad?

The Western District Police have not released any further information about the circumstances surrounding the shooting confrontation. Police have not suggested that the shooting had anything to do with anabolic steroids and/or any type of illegal drug transaction. But they do not believe the shooting was random.

Local news reports suggest that a dispute may have involved a woman after a neighbor reported someone was yelling a woman’s name.

The bodybuilder is unlikely to be sleeping well after being released. The gunman remains at large.

South Australia Police Crime Scene Examiners and Ballistic experts have located the weapon used in the attack. The identity of the gunman was not publicly released. It is not known whether or not the bodybuilder knew the gunman.
