How to Optimize Bodybuilding Nutrition in 2019

Before attempting any bodybuilding, please ensure that your body is sufficiently hydrated and properly nourished.  (This includes detoxing your body before starting bodybuilding.)

Bodybuilders are a rare breed, indeed.  They are either competing against each other, or they are competing against themselves – or competing against the person they were yesterday.

Ultimately, the goal of any bodybuilder is to gain muscle mass.  Or is it?

Why do bodybuilders build?

According to a study done by the IHRSA, (The International Health, Racquet, and Sports Clubs Association) the fitness industry increases with at least 4% every year and has been doing so for the last 10 years.  Fortunately, it shows no signs of slowing down anytime in the foreseeable future.

It is, in fact, accelerating as more and more people become aware of the advantages of exercising regularly and eating healthy, nutritious food.

The reason for this may be that social media has boomed with photos and videos about people keeping their bodies in tip-top condition and many have followed suit.  Everybody wants to look good and bodybuilding can change your whole body – the shape of it, the shape of your face if you want and it can ultimately make you live a longer, happier life.

We all know that the reasons might be:

Newbie gains – What is it?

The first stage in any newbie’s bodybuilding journey is the newbie gains stage. This is often the best and most exciting stage, as from daily, regular exercise, you are able to see your body change literally from day to day – so take lots of photos.

For some people, it might be a little intimidating – learning new terminology and changing all your old, unhealthy habits, but it is worth it in the long run.

Only during this period – newbie gains – will increase your muscles this much at the speed of light. So, somewhere in the universe there one place is where being a newb, is not at all bad.

How do you gain muscle mass by optimizing nutrition only?

First of all, it is important to detox your body, to rid it of all the toxins inside.

The way to do this is to clean and open your elimination channels, especially your colon. There are a few ways to do this. You can use herbal laxatives or colon hydrotherapy. This process doesn’t take long and can be done over a period of 2-3 days. You can also do a liver purge if you feel it is necessary. Not many people believe in the effectiveness of a liver purge, but it has always worked for me and I feel fantastic afterward.

The results of a good liver cleanse are that

Thereafter, maintain a healthy diet void of fast and processed foods.

Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate

I cannot stress this part of bodybuilding enough and I urge you to not be thirsty at all, from the moment of you deciding to get started in bodybuilding. As you may or may not know, dehydration helps you shed the weight and hydration helps you to grow. Your body is 90% water, right? Drink a lot of water – every day.

Nutrition is one of the most critical parts of any bodybuilding regime.

Gain more strength and muscle mass

You can gain more muscle by simply sticking to and doing the nutrition effectively. Without effective nutrition, it is impossible for your body to achieve the results that you would have while following the optimal diet. Nutrition is KEY.

What to eat

In order of importance, the following nutrients are KEY to effective bodybuilding and mass gain.

Pre- AND Post-Workout Nutrient Timing

There is no more critical time to consume these undermentioned nutrients than before AND after your daily workout. Do not skip them and do not take them any other times other than before and after your workout.

For ease of understanding, I have broken down the nutrient consumption below in time zones and phrases.

Pre-Workout Nutrients

Post-Workout Nutrients

When your workout is over, you want to consume your post-workout nutrients ASAP. Literally, while walking out of the gym or exercise room. This will maximize recover, results and strengths and muscle mass gains.
